Post Doctoral Researcher
Charlotte Huppertz is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Public and Occupational Health of the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, under the supervision of dr. Hidde van der Ploeg. She investigates the determinants and consequences of exercise behavior and sedentary time based on twin and family data. She works in close collaboration with the Netherlands Twin Register (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), where she conducted research on exercise behavior as part of her PhD project from March 2011 until July 2015, under the supervision of prof. Eco de Geus and prof. Meike Bartels. Charlotte holds a master’s degree in the psychology of sport and exercise from Loughborough University (England) and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Maastricht University (NL). She worked as a teaching assistant at the German Sport University Cologne and she was a visiting PhD student at the University of Helsinki.
