Mikel Reilingh is a resident with special interest in Sport Traumatology at the Department of Orthopaedic surgery of the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam. Mikel Reilingh was born (1983) in Purmerend and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After obtaining the medical doctor’s degree in 2008 at the VU University Medical Center, he worked as a PhD student at the department of orthopaedic surgery of the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam (prof. dr. C.N. van Dijk & prof. dr. G.M.M.J. Kerkhoffs). He was involved in various projects and hopes to finish his thesis on the treatment of osteochondral defects in the summer of 2016. In 2011, he started his training for orthopaedic surgery at the department of general surgery of the Diakonessenhuis Utrecht (dr. G.J. Clevers). He continued his residency at the departments of orthopaedic surgery of the Slotervaart Medical Center (dr. H. van der Vis), the Academic Medical Center (prof. dr. C.N. van Dijk & prof. dr. G.M.M.J. Kerkhoffs), and the Amphia Ziekenhuis (dr. D. Eygendaal). He will finish his training at the Slotervaart Medical Center at the end of 2017.
